53-year-old widow rapes mentally ill boy at knife point

The boy (name withheld) from Masiebi village in Butula, was defiled by his sister-in-law Pascaline Naijuma, who was desperate to move house as is required of a widow. “It was around 9pm. My mother had left for a funeral in Uganda. My sister-in-law cheated me that someone was calling me, and asked me to follow her to her house where she stripped naked and forced me to have sex or she would kill me. She was holding a knife,” the minor told this writer. The Nairobian learnt that the boy, whose dad is also mentally ill, dropped out of school in Class Three after teachers told him that he had “a problem of forgetting things and didn’t have brains for school and was better off helping his family look after cattle.” After the incident, his relatives conspired to have the matter solved at clan level for fear that it could bring shame to the family. “People are saying we solve the matter at home. But I want her arrested because what she did is bad. I hear she ran to Uganda,” said the boy.
